I agree, I don't think they need help on this one. "Crazy" people seem to be all that's left willing to study with them.

Tactic to bring it down, get people in.
by jwfacts ini was just eatting breakfast and thought of an idea to make the congregations less desirable to be in.
if jws can not/don't want to see through the doctrine, maybe filling the congregations with undesirables will make them think twice about going to meetings.
maybe we should do an advertising campaign to the mentally ill, tell them that meetings are filled with people longing to be their friends.. advertise to the cleptomaniacs that there are plenty of trusting people that leave their bags around.. tell young men that there are plenty of gullible virgins that still have a 1950's view of male superiority and headship.. and all they have to do to become a member is pretend to go preaching 10 hours a month for 6 months.

Do you get "bushwhacked"?
by mustang indo you encounter a jw and feel that you have "been had" afterwards?
do you feel "violated"?
does what you should have said occur to you 15 minutes later or the next day?

Watchtower is either god or false prophet on end times
by RevFrank inend times.
before 1874 to present, the watchtower has missed dates after dates on when the lord will come again.
and when the date comes and goes away the watchtower either ignores it or blames someone else.. scripture speaks clearly on this issue.

For sure there is truth to it. The Watchtower never did predict the hour. I think that the fallicy of their predictions actually is not proven by the unfullfilled dates in themselves, but their misrepresentation of those dates over the decades.

Comments that made feel pity at last Sundays WT study
by drew sagan ini believe it was paragraph 17, the one that spoke about the faithful slave and how there are those who wish to be "independent" and that this is wrong.
two comments came, both from elders.
elder 1: so what the paragraph is telling us is that instead of developing an independent spirit we actually want to be developing a spirit of dependece upon god's organization and the spiritual food they provide.

Elder 1: So what the paragraph is telling us is that instead of developing an independent spirit we actually want to be developing a spirit of dependece upon God's organization and the spiritual food they provide.
after that I didn't think it could get worse, but it did
Elder 2: So we realize that Jehovah has put this faithful slave in charge of ALL of his belongings. That means that we need to PUT FAITH into the faithful and discreet slave class. Only then can we stay in Jehovahs favor.
I know both of these guys very well. The are very good people. When I heard them both give these comments I just couldn't help but feel pity for both of them, and how they had no clue as to what they where REALLY saying. Elder 1 is actually one of the most intelligent people I know, but it is so scary to hear someone say that humans need to develop a dependent spirit upon a man made religious structure. -

But the Watchtower never predicted the hour. Anyway, who would have taught us all our Bible truth if not for the faithful slave. You sound like you need to "readjust your thinking"!!!. :)

Awake = College Education, % of brain usage, where are these?
by drew sagan ini've heard that this is somewhere in the magazines, but i have no clue where.
also, does anybody know where (or even if) the watchtower ever fed off the idea that we only use a fraction of our brains, an idea that has proven to be false?
i heard so many people talk about this in discussion, but have been unable to locate it in a publication.

Their "BIG" news 'KNOCKING' documentary
by DannyHaszard inknocking documentary newsletter #1 summer 2005. .
witnesses.
stories of real families to humanize jehovah's witnesses.

I really don't think this documentary will have much of an effect either way. I'm sure some Witnesses will watch it with excitement, but when all is said and done, who cares? I don't think any religion has ever gained mass conversion by a PBS TV program. Their website said they hoped to premier this as Sundance in 2006, looks like that didn't happen. Oh well.
